Terms of Service

Last updated August 2026

These terms cover your use of PitPulse (getpitpulse.com and the PitPulse app), operated by an individual sole proprietor based in California. By using PitPulse, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.

What PitPulse is

PitPulse decodes your vehicle from its VIN, projects a maintenance schedule from your mileage, checks it against federal safety recall data, and — for paying subscribers — emails you before each service comes due. It's a planning tool, not a substitute for a qualified mechanic.

The most important clause on this page

The maintenance intervals PitPulse shows you are general guidance, not your manufacturer's official service schedule. We derive them from your vehicle's year, engine, fuel type and transmission, and from publicly known service practices — not from licensed OEM data, which is locked behind commercial databases we don't have access to. Intervals adjust for severe-duty driving when you tell us that applies, but they are still estimates.

You're responsible for verifying any interval against your owner's manual or a qualified mechanic before relying on it, especially for safety-related items like brakes and tires. PitPulse is provided “as is,” without any warranty that its schedule is accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific vehicle. To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any damage, breakdown, missed service, accident, or financial loss that results from relying on PitPulse's schedule instead of your manufacturer's guidance or a mechanic's advice.

The same applies to recall information: we surface data from NHTSA's public database for your vehicle's year, make and model, not a confirmation of whether your specific VIN has an open, unrepaired recall. NHTSA's own VIN lookup, linked from the app, is the only authoritative source for that.

Your account

You need a valid email to create an account. You're responsible for keeping access to that email secure, since it's how you sign in. Tell us right away at contact@getpitpulse.com if you think someone else has access to your account.

You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's consent, to use PitPulse.

Subscriptions and billing

All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Ending your account

You can stop using PitPulse and request account deletion any time by emailing contact@getpitpulse.com. If you have an active subscription, cancel it separately from your billing page first — deleting your account doesn't automatically issue a refund for time already paid for.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PitPulse and its operator aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including lost income from a missed shift, vehicle repair costs, or data loss. Our total liability for any claim relating to PitPulse is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is greater.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify active account holders by email. Continuing to use PitPulse after a change means you accept the update.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California.
